Our Mission

Joey’s Journey Foundation was created to enrich the lives of children walking the rocky path of cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

Our mission is simple.

With donations, Joey’s Journey will grant wishes, raise awareness and fund research to help families fighting pediatric cancer.

Each Day 43 families hear the words “Your child has cancer.”

About the Foundation

We promise to use your donations in good faith to enrich the lives of children and families fighting childhood cancer by providing hope and happiness.

Joey’s Journey Foundation, through donations, recently provided lunch for the Hematology/Oncology Clinic at Riley Children’s Hospital, donated to help a child travel across the country for much needed treatment, sent small tokens of love to a few different kiddos, as well as provided gifts for 3 families needing assistance with Christmas presents for each member of their families!

Student Visionaries of the Year and Boy of the Year

Our family has been part of Blood Cancer United’s Student Visionaries of the Year and Boy of the Year programs, and we’ve seen what happens when young people and communities rally around a cause. It all started one Friday night,

April of 2019, the last Friday of Spring Break to be exact...

I was just starting to get the kids’ dinner… the phone call no one wants to receive, the gut wrenching words “Mrs. Beahrs, I need you to be in a private place to talk, can you go somewhere in the house away from the kids?  Can you put your husband on the phone too?”  The next few minutes were a blur, words I’d never heard and didn’t know how to spell.  He’d already called Riley (Children’s Hospital) and made us an appointment for the next day.

“Mrs. Beahrs, there is a mass in Joey’s chest.”
